Melville, the Father of the French New Wave, has made a quirky, highly stylized film which revolves around Bob, an aging but elegant gangster who plans a daring robbery of the Deauville Casino. The tension builds as Bob recruits his Montmarte cohorts, plans the break-in and attempts to execute "the biggest heist of the century." An entertaining comedy of manners as well as an exciting drama. (French with English subtitles)
