Hollywood, and the movie industry in particular, take it on the chin in this biting and funny satire. Reminiscent of S.O.B. and This Is Spinal Tap, The Big Picture pokes some good-natured and wacky, on-target jabs at the Hollywood establishment in its story of a student filmmaker who tries to direct his first feature film. Bacon stars as the talented newcomer who "goes Hollywood." While a couple of jokes may be too "in" for some, most of this material is accessible to all. Short is a highly outrageous agent.
