Beware of a Holy Whore

An autobiographical meditation on the turbulent interactions and shifting power relationships which make up the filmmaking process, this is RFW's 8½, Day for Night and Contempt. Based in part on Fassbinder's own experiences making Whity, Beware of a Holy Whore follows a film crew and a group of actors who anxiously lounge around an opulent Spanish hotel arguing, drinking and becoming involved in destructive sex and power games as they endlessly wait for the film's star (Constantine), production money and especially the director (played by Fassbinder) to bring them to life. This was RFW's last collaboration with the collective Anti-Teater (Fassbinder's repertory company). (German with English subtitles)
