The Assignment

Navy officer and family man Quinn is quite content to follow orders, tow the line, and lead a nice, quiet life. Unfortunately for him, he happens to be physically identical to the notorious terrorist, the Jackal (no relation to Bruce Willis), and he is forced by CIA operative Sutherland to accept an undercover mission to put an end to the Jackal's reign. The film never achieves that neat balance between probing psychodrama and slam-bang action that John Woo's Face/Off typifies. This is strictly comic book stuff, and as such, it's rather entertaining. The action scenes are crisp and suspenseful, if unremarkable.
