In this fourth and final screen pairing of Pryor and Wilder, Gene plays a compulsive liar who leaves a sanitarium and is left in the custody of con man Richard, who's doing community service. They soon are on the run from crooked businessmen using Gene in a corporate scam. Sadly, the screenplay offers nothing for these comedians to do other than look bemused, and their chemistry suffers as a result. Also, Pryor is beginning to show signs of his coming illness, making this all the more painful to watch.
