REVIEW
A poor woman's Moonstruck, Angie, based on Avra Wing's novel "Angie, I Says," stars Davis as a Bensonhurst secretary who reexamines her life. Engaged to a likable, macho plumber, Angie learns she is pregnant. But instead of marrying the father, she dumps him and begins an affair with an affected Manhattan artist (Rea). The film begins on a congenial level -- introducing affable characters and playful moments of schtick. Halfway through, however, the story takes a distressing turn and disintegrates into a depressing, yawn-producing soap opera. You Might Also Like
