Told with melodramatic gusto and imbued with loads of nudity, this torrid and violent story of doomed love is played out amidst the backdrop of an alternately seedy, and yet beautiful, Rio de Janeiro. Thrown out by her detective father, a 17-year-old girl becomes an erotic dancer and hooker at a club in the tough Copacabana. It is here that Sandra meets Tony, a baby-faced teenager and cold-blooded killer. Fueled by loneliness and lust, the two fall passionately in love -- all the while unaware that the noose of retribution is tightening around their necks.
