Oscar-winner Adrien Brody (The Pianist) stars as Jack, a grifter who masquerades as a vice cop to rip off tourists and is writing a pulp novel from his experiences. But Jack's streetwise strut prove no match for Claire, a straitlaced grad student who sees the vulnerable man inside. Claire finds herself drawn into Jack's dark world of seedy hotel rooms and back alley shadows. All the while Jack is being trailed by Det. linda Fox (Pam Grier) who threatens to lock our man up.
