Judd Apatow
Drawing critical acclaim for nearly every project is hard enough for Scorsese and Truffaut. Yet somehow Judd Apatow has done it while making comedies largely about immature men. It didn't take long for Apatow to achieve cult status on the small screen with his two short-lived but much-loved series "Freaks & Geeks" and "Undeclared". Clearly, that cult grew very quickly, as shortly after both series were released (with tons of bells & whistles) on DVD, he made his big-screen directing debut with The 40-Year-Old Virgin and found mass acceptance for the first time. His hot streak continued with Knocked Up, and Apatow's golden touch also extends to producing, from Superbad to Anchorman.
