Let's see. . . extreme surfing, diamond smuggling, an invisible Aston Martin, a headquarters made of ice, a gigantic satellite weapon, an insomniac villain, a few sexy temptresses, and one martini, shaken, not stirred. Yes, James Bond is back for his 20th official film, in a coherently action-packed entry that recalls the grittiness of the Timothy Dalton films while sporting a better cast, including the born-to-be-Bond Brosnan. Berry is a welcome addition to the Bond Girl canon as Jinx, an independent American agent who attracts James even as she gets in his way. Yune is a memorable heavy, with good kung-fu moves and diamonds for acne. If there's a weakness here it's Madonna, who continues her remarkable losing streak with a rare trifecta: a terrible title song, irritating closing remix, and stiff cameo performance.
