Skinopsis

Director Lucio Fulci stars in this tale of a notorious director who begins to be driven mad by years of creating unbelievably gory horror sequences. While, self-reflexive statements often tend to fall into the "artistic wankery" category of film, this movie saves itself by unleashing scene after scene of utter gratuitousness. There's so much gore that even die-hard gore fans might find themselves overwhelmed with the blood and guts, decapitations, throat-slashings, hordes of gratuitous nudity, a Nazi orgy/torture sequence and, yes, a cat eating a brain. Banned in England for several years.
