Set in modern Beirut, A Perfect Day tells the "delicate but haunting" (Time Out New York) story of a family still scarred by the Lebanese Civil War that ended 15 years before. Claudia (Julia Kassar) and her grown son, Malek (Ziad Saad), wake up to a typical morning, which quickly sours when the conversation turns to the family's patriarch. Claudia's husband and Malek's father has been missing since the war, and the two debate whether to have him declared legally dead. Once the decision is made, they move on with their lives in different ways.
